Have you ever noticed that when a particular theme starts showing up in your life, it can suddenly seem to be everywhere? A conversation. Then another. Something you read. Something that happens to someone you know. Different circumstances, but somehow the same thread running through all of them. At some point, I start to wonder: Is this just coincidence, or does this repetition contain a pointer for me? Sometimes that pointer is toward an action or learning that is relevant to our life right now. And sometimes it might be drawing our attention to a vulnerability or possibility where action now could matter somewhere down the road. Maybe that’s one of the gifts of these strange patterns. They give us a glimpse into something we might otherwise miss—and an opportunity to make an adjustment before we actually need to. Life isn’t always fair. We can’t anticipate everything or protect ourselves from every possibility. But perhaps we don’t have to. Maybe when life keeps highlighting the same theme, we can pause and ask: What am I being invited to notice? What am I being invited to do? And then make the small adjustment and keep living. Because we may never know if it mattered. Our action may prevent something from happening—or benefit someone else entirely. And that’s okay. The point is that we noticed, listened, and took action.
